  Concerns From Parents

"Being away from parents can be very valuable to a child.
It's good for the parent, too, to let go a bit."

— Parent Comment

Being a successful camp parent
Many children today are raised in a protective environment, where parents walk or drive them to school and arrange structured play dates. For moms and dads who are reluctant to let their sheltered children even walk to the end of their own street alone, the thought of sending kids off to a residential summer camp can be downright overwhelming.

My child's ready for camp, but I'm not
As a parent you want to expose your child to a range of activities that provide opportunities for growth, development and learning. Camp is a perfect fit.

You are likely more nervous about your child going to camp for the first time than he or she is, but don't let that hold your child back.

Of course, you'll miss your children if they're away, but don't deny them the chance to gain from a rewarding experience and be part of a unique community.

Learning to let go... and why you should
Four years ago, Stephen Bartoloni was a camp-parent novice, this is his story about how he dealt with sending his daughter away to camp.
How short or how long? Day or Residential?
A week? Two weeks? A month? What's worth keeping in mind if you and your child are first timers.

My child has special needs
Many camps offer integrated programs, others are entirely devoted to children with specific needs.
Safety at summer camp
An obvious concern for all parents is whether their child will be well taken care of.
